Since 1981, nearly 1,000 of the world'south funniest comedians have performed gratis-of-charge for more than a 500,000 people at the original. longest-running, free outdoor comedy concert in the world. Each September, San Francisco's professional comedy customs joins together to support this highly-entertaining, v-hour show; The Dial Line, Cobb's Comedy Club, SF Sketchfest, and others help make Comedy Day the virtually predictable comedy issue of the year. Spring Eggstravaganza

Celebrate spring with our annual Eggstravaganza issue at Robin Williams Meadow in Golden Gate Park. Featuring egg hunts, carnival rides, games, alive entertainment, food trucks and a delicious no-recipes-barred barbecue rib melt-off between city agencies, including Rec and Park, SF Police and SF Fire.

$10 per person; children ages ii and under are free.

Tree Lighting at McLaren Lodge

Each Dec, we kick off the holiday flavor with our almanac Tree Lighting celebration, featuring free activities for all including funfair rides, games, live entertainment, a Cookie Mill and visits from Santa. A special lighting of the nearby Solarium of Flowers is also part of the festivities.

Bloom Pianoforte at the SF Botanical Garden

Flower Piano transforms the San Francisco Botanical Garden into the city's own alfresco concert hall for twelve days in July, and anybody is invited to play and listen for just the price of regular Garden admission. Twelve pianos are tucked amongst the many blossom-filled gardens inside SFBG's 55 acres and are available to the public to play each twenty-four hour period.

Races and Walks

Bay to Breakers

With a starting point near the San Francisco Bay, a few blocks from The Embarcadero, the 12K race runs west through the city and finishes at the Peachy Highway where breakers crash onto the Pacific Declension's Ocean Beach. A quintessential San Francisco experience since 1912, the race is interwoven into the cloth of the city and is a truthful reflection and celebration of life between the breakers and the Bay.
